Introducing Flower Class

announcement floral education Jan 01, 2021

New Years Day is one of my very favourite days of the whole entire year. Regardless of the perceived success or relative failure of the months prior, no matter how badly I might’ve screwed up the last one, we are gifted a brand new one, unspoilt, which stretches out ahead of each of us; filled with possibility and power, ripe to be plucked. After the multi-vehicle, multi-lane pile up of a year that we’ve collectively survived in 2020, I’m sure it goes without saying that we’re all looking forward to a brand new year with more gusto than usual.

Today however is a New Years Day that I believe to be more exciting than most New Years Days I’ve previously received : as today I’m delighted to be announcing the the launch of Flower Class : our brand new community membership, designed exclusively for flower lovers.

Flower Class has been more than a little while in the making - it’s been a project that my team and I have dedicated ourselves to over the past year, with weeks and months spent creating and curating, designing and debating, to bring to you the inspiring community we felt was missing within our industry. Last summer, back when we launched our very first online courses, we knew within the first few weeks that we’d found a new way to connect with our people - beyond the hands-on classes we’re privileged to run in our School in England - a global tribe of flower lovers who care not just about the ‘how’ to make a design, but about the ‘why’ of a design too.

Over the coming months we really started to find out what makes designers in our tribe different.

Our community is filled with designers who just aren’t content watching some florals be randomly thrown together without care, thought and sensitivity.

Our designers are those who want to discuss the supporting theory of a design so they can share it with their team. They want to dive deep into proportions, placements and principles.

They’re designers who want to discuss which alternative techniques could've be employed in any number of various real life situations. They want to stock their tool kit of ideas and techniques real deep.

Our community is designers who want to know how to sell those designs into their markets too.

Whilst I felt that our courses were really well received, I also felt that we could give more to our community - to give more support on a regular basis, share tutorials, and spread our expertise as our floral designers to not only grow their skills, but also grow their businesses too. I knew from the messages and comments we receive that there was a thirst for progressive knowledge, for ongoing learning, that our stand alone courses and course collections were just not providing.

It was time to build something bigger.

Today I’m so delighted to announce our floral membership, Flower Class, available Worldwide.

Some of our team thought that maybe January first wouldn’t be quite the best day to share some big news (given the inclination that a lot of people have to party pretty hard the eve prior!) but it felt right to me to use this clean slate day to mark a new and exciting chapter for myself, and for our community.

Welcome to the good, good news.
